IKHLAS.com, a groundbreaking business line under AirAsia Digital, is seeking a Data Science Intern.

IKHLAS.com aims to support Muslim communities globally by offering unparalleled access to faith-based practices, including religious obligations such as Umrah, Zakat, and Qurban, as well as other Shariah-compliant lifestyle choices.

Our key objectives include enhancing revenue and reducing costs through extensive data federation, predictive and prescriptive analytics, cutting-edge machine/deep learning, intelligent scheduling, optimization, and other advanced techniques.  

The Data Department is also responsible for managing data lakes across all our business units, deriving insights, adding value, and sharing them back with the businesses.

Moreover, the Data Department actively engages in innovation and training at the Outclass, as well as collaborating with strategic partners like Google, GE, Airbus, and academic institutions. 

Here’s what a typical day looks like:

• Gain hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform's AI/ML services, including Vertex AI and model deployment.
• You will gain exposure to the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and its components, such as SQL, Big Query, Compute Engine, GKE, etc.
• You will learn Agile Project Management techniques and participate in project execution, using methodologies like Scrum.
• You will understand the importance of ITIL/ITSM, technical documentation, and version control by using tools such as Jira, Confluence, GitLab, etc.
• Participate in the full data project lifecycle, from data collection and preprocessing to model deployment and monitoring.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ML solutions into production systems. 

Required Skills and Abilities

To excel in this role, you should possess:

• Strong understanding of machine learning fundamentals and deep learning architectures.
• Proficiency in Python and its data science stack (NumPy, Pandas, Scikit-learn).
• Experience with cloud platforms and software engineering is a bonus.
• Experience with or interest in Natural Language Processing and Large Language Models (LLMs).
• Experience in working with large datasets to solve problems is also advantageous.
• Proficiency in using Google/Office suite for documentation, spreadsheets, and presentations.

• You have a deep understanding of machine learning and a keen interest in applying it at scale.
• You are an internship candidate currently pursuing your Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Statistics.
