What You’ll Experience

If you're into ethical hacking, digital forensics, threat hunting, or security strategy, this is your chance to dive into the action. You’ll be part of a dynamic, future-focused team working on real-world problems, not textbook simulations. Think security operations, incident response, penetration testing, and using the latest tools to stay ahead of cyber threats. You will be at the forefront of protecting and safeguarding Kmart group’s assets – both physical and virtual including intellectual property which builds consumer trust and boost revenue growth.

This program is all about growth - real experience, real impact, and real opportunities. With mentorship from industry pros and a learning journey tailored to you, you’ll explore different rotations in Cyber Security, find out what you’re interested in, and carve out a career path that actually excites you.

In the Cyber Technology stream, you will:

  • Monitor, detect and respond to threats across a complex tech landscape
  • Help shape policies, controls, and practices that keep us secure
  • Learn from cyber pros across disciplines, from cloud security to risk & governance
  • Use data and automation to protect our systems at scale

You’ll be backed by a tailored learning program, 1:1 mentorship, and industry exposure that will set you up for long-term success.

  • VAPT
  • GRC
  • DevSecOps & Cloud Security

About the Program

Starting in February 2026, our 2-year program includes 3-4 rotations within the Cyber Security function, with a permanent placement upon successful completion. During the program, you'll engage in practical and meaningful work that impacts our customers and allows you to grow your career through a personalised learning program. You'll be fully supported along this journey, working alongside and learning from industry experts.

About You

We’re on the lookout for grads who are curious, analytical, innovative, and ready to take on the ever-evolving world of cyber threats.

You are likely studying or have recently completed a degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field.

You will thrive in our inclusive, fast-paced, and people-first culture. And our values—Think Customer, Take Care, Live Integrity, Grow Together, and Reach Higher—will feel like second nature to you.

To be eligible for our 2026 program, you'll need to:

  • Be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or have Australian permanent residency at the time of application.
  • Have completed an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in the past 3 years (i.e., 2023, 2024, or 2025) or be due to complete your degree by the end of January 2026.
  • Be able to commence full-time employment in Melbourne in February 2026.
