2026 Kmart Group Graduate Program - Merchandise

Brighter futures start here!

Ready to shape the future of Aussie retail? Join the Kmart Graduate Program in Merchandise and get behind the scenes of the product decisions that keep millions of customers coming back. From spotting global trends to planning the perfect range, you'll help deliver products people love—at prices that make everyday living brighter for our customers.

What You’ll Experience

This isn’t your average graduate role. In the Merchandise stream, you’ll rotate between Buying and Planning, gaining firsthand experience in how products go from idea to shelf (and into millions of homes)

In Buying, you’ll:

  • Hunt for trends that’ll fly off the shelves
  • Work closely with our global sourcing team to bring product ideas to life
  • Curate ranges that deliver on style, quality, and unbeatable value

In Planning, you’ll:

  • Use data like a pro to manage financial plans that drive sales, profit, and stockturn • Partner with Buyers to align commercial strategy with customer demand
  • Analyse performance and make strategic decisions to maximise impact across the range

Expect to work cross-functionally with Marketing, Design, Sourcing, and more. It’s fast-paced, collaborative, and full of real impact.

This program is all about growth—real experience, real responsibility, and real opportunities. You’ll have 1:1 mentorship, a tailored learning journey, and the chance to find what excites you in the world of retail.

About the Program

Starting in February 2026, our 2-year program includes 3-4 rotations within the Merchandise function (across both Apparel and General Merchandise), with a permanent placement upon successful completion. During the program, you'll engage in practical and meaningful work that impacts our customers and allows you to grow your career through a personalised learning program. You'll be fully supported along this journey, working alongside and learning from industry experts.
