To qualify for the in-person tournament, you must participate in our online estimation game on Wednesday, 4 June. The top players will progress to the poker showdown at Susquehanna’s APAC headquarters in Sydney.
Square off with top students at the Susquehanna Showdown Final Table on Saturday, 12 July. Flights and accommodation will be provided to all non-NSW residents.
Final table players will battle it out for a prize pool of $8,500
First Prize $5,000
Second Prize $2,500
Third Prize $1,000
In addition to competing for the grand prize, players will have the chance to:
*Susquehanna interviews are guaranteed for the top 20 finishers of the tournament; however, all participants are encouraged to apply, and all applicants will be considered for open roles.
WHY POKER? We use poker to teach new traders about decision making under uncertainty. Our traders go through similar thought processes while evaluating the expected value of a given trade and deciding how to price risk. Susquehanna is home to World Series of Poker Bracelet winners Bill Chen and Jerrod Ankenman, co-authors of The Mathematics of Poker, a leading introduction to quantitative techniques and game theory in poker. TERMS AND CONDITIONS: To be an eligible participant, you must be aged 18 or over at the time of the competition final. You must be currently enrolled in an Australian or New Zealand university and be currently residing in either Australia or New Zealand. A resume is required to be provided by you as a condition to entry of the competition, and in doing so, you consent to this being kept on file at Susquehanna for current or future recruitment purposes. Only eligible participants will be invited to participate.
