Katherine Kostov
2023 Digital Intern
I’m gaining valuable hands-on experience and mentorship working on impactful projects.
I really like the year long program because it allows me to build on my abilities and explore my professional interests.
My managers are flexible around my university and personal commitments, and Mirvac has fostered a close intern community with regular social opportunities.
Nicholas Manganaro
2023 Construction Cadet
Whilst being integrated within the construction team for Mirvac, I have gained a greater understanding of the corresponding teams that are associated with running and maintaining these buildings.
My experiences at Mirvac have allowed me to gain invaluable experience through the generosity and patience of my colleagues, albeit being trusted with meaningful tasks to contribute towards the end product, being project delivery.
Although I am based in Melbourne, Mirvac has allowed me and other Victorian interns to explore and connect with our Sydney-based colleagues, permitting opportunities to explore their interstate projects as well.

A day in the life – working at Mirvac
My alarm goes off at 5.45am to get ready for a walk with my two housemates. We head down the road to our favourite café Skittle Lane where I order my usual Almond Cappuccino, and then onwards down to Bondi Beach to watch the sun rise. We walk along the promenade for a while soaking in the fresh air and watching the sky turn pink. I then leave my friends early to head back home, take a shower and get ready for work. I like to have a second black coffee whilst packing my breakfast and lunch. I always aim to be out the door at 7:25am, as the bus stop is always bustling with Bondi’s dedicated commuters. The buses run every 5 minutes and if I’m lucky I can grab a seat for the ride to Bondi Junction. Arriving at Bondi Junction at just before 8, I follow the crowd down the long escalator and jump on the first train heading west.
My train usually arrives at Martin Place around 8.15, and it’s just a short walk down to 200 George St. Even though there is hot-desking, our marketing team is tight knit, and we always sit together. I’m sat down at my desk by 8:30am, to get some admin done before meetings start at 9am. I like to start with mapping out my day by checking my calendar for any meetings and reminders, and by also cross-checking my managers calendar to make sure I can be available when necessary. I have a muesli bar and some fruit for breakfast, while checking my emails, responding to any urgent ones.
At 9.30am we have our weekly face-to-face meeting with the NSW APT & MPC Marketing team on Level 28. Natasha gets the whole team coffees (yes, this is my third…), and we chat about what we’re working on, how the weeks been going, and what our plans are for the weekend. I love these face-to-face meetings as it’s so nice to all be in the office and have a catch-up before the day begins. At 10am, I have a personal WIP with my direct manager. We discuss the most important tasks coming up. Today this is event planning for the impending opening of our display apartment at The Langlee and organising details for a photoshoot of the new furniture installation by Coco Republic. I love these meetings because there is always something exciting happening on one of our projects, be it an event, a signage brief, eDM copy writing or even video editing. We then have a catch-up about my progress and how I am going personally.
At 10.30am I head back to my desk to gather my thoughts and create a list of my tasks for the day, factoring in my afternoon meetings. Today, I’m finalising catering details with a creative branding agency for our event and mapping out a creative eDM brief. I really enjoy getting to practice design skills and working closely with our Des & Pres team to watch our ideas come to light.
12.30pm is lunch time. This usually consists of sending a quick message to the intern group to see who’s around. After several dings from my phone, it is confirmed that several interns are either waiting diligently on level 28 for everyone, rushing to heat up their carefully prepped Tupperware meals, or running down to Australia Square to grab a last-minute meal. We eat together and talk about our weeks and discuss what each of our divisions are doing ATM. It’s a great part of my day, where we all get to share our experiences thus far.
I head back to my desk at 1.15pm but am quickly back out on the street hailing a cab. Today I’m heading out to one of our display apartments to take short-form video content. The display is beautiful, and I have fun getting creative with shooting content for our socials. I head back to the office at 2.00pm and spend the next 15 minutes uploading some 90 videos to the shared digital marketing folder.
In the afternoon, I refer to my list, checking off my most important tasks first. I spend the next half-an-hour overlaying music onto a construction update video for one of our MPC projects. I also like to touch base with the entire team, to check if anyone requires assistance with anything urgent by EOD. At 4.30pm I have to pack up my things and head to Sydney University for a5pm class. Class finishes at 6pm so I walk to Redfern train station and start my journey back to Bondi. I make it back just in time for my 6.30pm Pilates class to wind down before heading home.
