An Inclusive Place to Work
One of Simplot’s Core Values is a Passion for People, and one important way the company demonstrates that is through our activities in support of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI).
We are dedicated to ensuring our employees enjoy equal opportunities and are treated with fairness, respect, and dignity. We strive to make sure they feel a sense of belonging and safe to bring their whole selves to work.
We know that the greatest innovation happens when diverse people with different perspectives collaborate, and that it brings strength and value to our company, customers, and communities where we operate.
Simplot in Australia and New Zealand's Diversity Equity and Inclusion Council
Our Simplot in ANZ DEI Council was established in 2019, and team members from different divisions, locations and levels of the organisation make up its membership. The Council is responsible for helping drive our DEI strategic direction and taking targeted action to support key issues, including
- Gender Equity
- Disability Inclusivity
- Reconciliation with Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander Peoples
- LGBTIQ+ Inclusion
- Age Diversity
- Reducing Stigma around Mental Health
In addition, globally we hold DEI awareness and education training, as well as support our growing Employee Resource Groups.
Through this and uniting under our core value of Passion for People, we aim to create a workplace that is welcoming, accepting and truly inclusive.
Contributing to Reconciliation: Our First Reconciliation Action Plan
Simplot has an ongoing commitment to contribute to reconciliation within Australia.
In 2021, Simplot partnered with the organisation Reconciliation Australia, to release our first Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), known as a Reflect RAP. This practical strategy drives the organisation’s contribution to reconciliation both internally and in our communities. Since then, we have continued to support the National Reconciliation movement through relationship building, and improving cultural and historical awareness. As of 2024, we are now embarking on our second RAP, known as an Innovate RAP.
